The iPhone dev team has just released a new tool that allows any iPhone to be jailbroken simply by visiting a web page in your mobile Safari browser. It works great, but you’ll still need to unlock (and in some cases re-activate) your iPhone. Check it out.

What does re-activate mean?
Robert – if you upgrade to the latest version of iOS through iTunes, Apple requires that your phone be re-activated through them. This means they check to make sure that the SIM card in your phone is the correct one (for example, it must be an AT&T SIM card in the US). Some methods of jailbreaking also get around this check, but the jailbreakme.com site does not.
